Prominent have had the pleasure of working with mental health charity, Suffolk Mind, since February 2022.
The charity sought our support following the departure of their PR and marketing coordinator, which left a gap in media relations delivery.
As a company which prioritises the mental health of its team, Prominent were all too happy to lend our support. Our services range from media relations to graphic design, crisis communications and much more. So, not only were we equipped to support such an important local cause, but we were also eager to.
Our team features former journalists, who developed their own relationships with Suffolk Mind during their previous roles. Working closely with the charity on a range of print and broadcast stories, our PR team already understood Suffolk Mind’s goal: To make Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health.
Using our team’s previous experience with the charity and our commitment to supporting mental health, our work together quickly blossomed into a seamless partnership.
Prominent’s experience in the media industry means we have an eye for a story. Communicating closely with Suffolk Mind’s team, we have been able to identify an array of press opportunities. Each piece of work we have completed for Suffolk Mind has received coverage throughout the county. Therefore, we have been able to highlight the charity’s work to a wider audience through print and broadcast press.
Our press releases have achieved front pages on the East Anglian Daily Times for stories highlighting the worsened mental health of young people since the pandemic, as well as its strain on teachers’ mental health. We also marked the anniversary of the first lockdown by looking at Covid’s impact on mental health in Suffolk. After spotting an opportunity on Twitter, we produced a story on the fundraising efforts of a local BBC presenter which featured on the BBC and local papers.
By analysing data from Suffolk Mind, we’ve also publicised the effect long-Covid has had on people’s emotional needs. This resulted in coverage in local print and radio, and even an interview for LBC.
Additionally, we’ve provided comments for stories ranging from the cost-of-living crisis, calls for better education around mental health and more.
Prominent always strive to create, deliver and inspire with every piece of work we complete for our clients. We are incredibly proud to receive fantastic feedback from our clients, and it has been no different with Suffolk Mind.
Ellie Winch, marketing and engagement manager, said:
“Suffolk Mind began working with Prominent PR in February 2022. We instantly felt safe in the team’s hands and within the first week we had a front page story. Since then, our relationship has developed and Prominent feel like an extension of the in-house team, rather than an agency. The team took our training on board and have worked hard to get to know us inside out. We’re thrilled with their work, ethics and friendly approach. I look forward to working with them at every briefing.”
