PR account manager

The role

Salary £26,000-£30,000 dependent on experience

We are looking for an experienced, creative and driven PR Account Manager to join our team and play a key role in an exciting period of growth at Prominent.

Ideally you will have 2-3+ years of experience in a similar role managing clients on a local, regional and national basis across a variety of sectors including B2C and B2B. You will be adept at building relationships with your clients and ensuring their account is managed effectively and efficiently, securing them excellent results against their business objectives.

You will be the focal point of account work and maintain exceptional relationships with your clients, your team, the media, suppliers and partners.

You will benefit from a pension scheme, generous holiday allocation and a profit share scheme. Your working hours will be 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday

You will be based primarily at the Prominent base in Felixstowe but will be required to work in-house at some of our clients’ places of work from time to time, so a car is essential. Flexible working from home is also available.

 

The role will include:

  • Account management of clients including client liaison, PR planning, strategy management and activity tracking
  • Writing including press releases, features, blogs, case studies, award entries and marketing collateral
  • Social media management and analysis
  • Event management
  • Management of junior staff
  • Managing a press office set up including crisis communications management
  • Leading internal team meetings, brainstorms and strategy planning sessions
  • Supporting the Senior Management Team with new business proposals and pitching

 

In addition, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Be a lively, energetic and enthusiastic candidate who has a 'can do' approach.
  • Fully understand PR strategy including a client’s business objectives and how they align
  • Be able to identify a client’s target market, customer journey and relevant platforms and key messages
  • Have the ability to learn quickly, work as part of a team, handle a number of tasks at the same time, and be able to prioritise tasks
  • Have exceptional writing skills
  • Have a willingness to succeed, will be proactive and will take pride in their work
  • Be ambitious with a hard work ethic who is keen to progress their career
  • Be able to produce a wide range of high-quality written material within tight deadline
  • Have good time and workload management skills - must be a strong multi-tasker.
  • Be a good team player who is willing to learn from team members and who can take constructive criticism
  • Be able to come up with ideas independently and see them through
  • Have some experience of managing a small number of staff
