It was like Christmas in the Prominent and RB Agency office last week when a host of new and shiny laptops arrived for the team. Here, Managing Director Helen Rudd explains why we’ve invested in new technology.
Here at Prominent we’re thrilled to have received a grant from the New Anglia Small Grant Scheme, which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund for some new technology!
Our colleagues at RB Agency, which Prominent bought back in July 2018, have always worked from a desk top computer which was plugged into a server. It has meant that working from home was virtually impossible, insurance costs for the server were high and its reliability issues meant we had the IT support team out more often than we wanted!
The Prominent team have always had laptops and cloud-based document storage and the ability to work remotely, so in order to equal everyone out we felt it was important that our RB colleagues had the same opportunities.
And thank goodness we did – we’re all now able to work from home following Government guidance in light of the Coronavirus pandemic. The new machines arrived just in time!
The grant process was simple and we were confirmed as being successful in less than a week. These machines have already made such a huge difference to our business and now, to the health and wellbeing of our staff.
If you’re thinking of applying for a grant, we would recommend it – the New Anglia team were a fantastic support and answered all of our questions, no matter how simple they may have been!
So even in the face of adversity Prominent and RB Agency will work as normal, providing vital communications services to our clients in a time they need it the most!
