What a year 2024 has been for Prominent PR!
We celebrated a big milestone, welcomed a new member to the team, achieved some amazing national coverage for our clients and much, much more.
Here, we look back at 2024 and some of the top moments from the year.
In February, Prominent celebrated our tenth birthday – doesn’t time fly by! The company was founded by our Managing Director Helen Rudd from a laptop in her home in 2014, so has certainly come a long way since then.
To celebrate, we got the glitter and balloons out and had a photoshoot with snapper extraordinaire Sarah Lucy Brown – along with a few sweet treats and glasses of fizzy.
Our anniversary celebration even made it into the Ipswich Star!
We achieved some great coverage for our clients as they hit the headlines this year – from Premier League partnerships to a school sausage dog who become a national star.
In March, we helped to launch Rossall School’s new partnership with Manchester City Football Club.
The school and club have created a groundbreaking new football programme for boys and girls at the school, which kicked off in September.
Woodforde’s Brewery took a starring role on ITV Anglia as it showcased its delicious Albion Stout, giving the TV crew a tour of the brewery.
Harwich Haven Authority were also featured on ITV Anglia as part of International Women’s Day coverage, encouraging more women to take to the seas. They also got a double-page spread in the East Anglian Daily Times – you can read the piece online here.
Cora Homes gained BBC coverage as they launched the Broadnook Garden Village, along with a host of newspaper headlines. Leicestershire’s first garden village will see almost 2,0000 homes built between Birstall and Rothley.
We had the pleasure to promote the appointment of Sizewell C’s new Lead Chaplain, with a lovely feature in the East Anglian Daily Times, as well as promoting the amazing work of chaplains across the county in all the local Suffolk press.
And finally, Cleo the sausage dog became a national star after featuring in a Suffolk primary school’s glowing Ofsted report. The adorable pup acts as a ‘therapeutic presence’ for the children, always ready for a cuddle if the children are feeling anxious or down.
After being featured on BBC Look East, we were thrilled to see Cleo had made it onto the next morning’s BBC Breakfast show on BBC One. You can read all about Cleo here.
A great moment of 2024 welcoming Lottie Powell to the Prominent team.
Lottie joined in March as a Senior Account Executive after previously working in logistics, and immediately hit the ground running.
Taking on a number of key clients, Lottie is doing a fabulous job – as well as making some truly delicious chilli jam and onion chutney sausage rolls for the Prominent Christmas buffet (more on that later).
It has been a brilliant year for awards for our clients this year.
Among these was Rachel Garrett, Managing Director of CMG Technologies, who scooped the prestigious SME Director of the Year award at the IoD England Director of the Year Awards – calling it a ‘career highlight’.
Jon Neal, CEO of Suffolk Mind, won Director of the Year at the Suffolk Business Awards, with our clients Harwich Haven Authority and Nigel Seaman from Combat2Coffee being shortlisted too.
Meanwhile, housebuilder Cora Homes were shortlisted in two categories at the National Building and Construction Awards while Pilgrims Pre-Preparatory School was shortlisted for the Independent School of the Year Award.
Our award entry writing master Oliver Sullivan was certainly on form in 2024!
Prominent has been involved in some brilliant events during 2024.
In May, Keira and her daughter took on Suffolk Mind’s Walk of Glass and Fire – with Keira braving the coals and Orla the Lego – to raise money for the mental health charity.
Later in the year, they both took part in Suffolk Mind’s brilliant Colour Rush event at Trinity Park in October.
In June it was the Suffolk Show, where we helped our clients get the message out about the work they do across the county.
The Ipswich Town FC Media Day in August was particularly special. We were there supporting Nigel Seaman and Combat2Coffee (C2C) – and got a visit from Suffolk superstar Ed Sheeran.
Ed spoke to the C2C team about their important work supporting veterans – and was very complimentary about their flapjacks!
We’ve also has some fantastic team events.
Our summer do saw us travel to London for a few rounds of crazy golf, some delicious grub at Box Park and rooftop cocktails at the Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch.
For our Christmas staff do we were treated to a night of music from the 90s at Ipswich Town FC.
Not to mention our delicious Christmas buffet – we’re still munching our way through it now!
We’ve already spoken about Lottie’s amazing sausage rolls, but special mention also has to go to Clare’s scrumptious rocky road and Olly’s delicious salt and pepper chicken!
And that's it – another year flies by! We hope you have had as good a year as we have!
We wish you a Merry Christmas and happy New Year – see you in 2025!
