Meet Prominent's newest team member

Meet Prominent’s newest team member: our intern Katharine. Here, she tells us a bit about herself and what she’s been up to in her first week.

I completed my degree in Psychology last summer after a year and a half of online learning, I returned to Suffolk not knowing what I was going to do next. I knew I needed to build up my CV, so I was really excited when I was offered the opportunity of work experience with Prominent PR.

Following a month of work experience, I have joined the Prominent team as an intern for 2 days a week. It’s official now because I’ve added my coffee mug to the cupboard! (it says ‘crazy cat lady’ on it so everyone knows it’s mine!).

I’ve learned so much so far and I’m learning new things every week. So far, I’ve worked on:

• Writing blog posts
• Creating social media content
• Creating contact databases
• Communicating with contacts

As an intern, I’m going to be having a go at a variety of tasks with support from all the team members.

Prominent provides many different services, from digital branding to press releases – I’m excited to learn from everyone, the whole team is super talented!

So far, I’ve enjoyed writing blog posts the most. I studied creative writing at A Level, so It’s fun to get to use my writing skills again. I felt so proud when I saw my first blog post on a client’s website.

I really enjoy coming into the Office, everyone is super friendly and made me feel welcome from the start. I enjoy catching up about TV and our pets (did I mention I love cats!) during coffee breaks.

When I’m not in the office I’m going to be outside working with Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s Learning Team. I’m hoping to pursue a career in the environment/sustainability sector - the PR skillset I’m building at Prominent is going to be extremely useful.
