We are celebrating at Prominent as Marketing Director Abi Gagen and Account Director Kerry Doy have become Accredited Practitioners; a mark of recognition given out by the Chartered Institute of PR (CIPR) for those showing excellence in and a commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).

Abi and Kerry have both achieved the certification after committing to two years of the scheme, which saw them attend training courses, webinars and industry events to increase their skills and keep up to date with techniques and practices in the PR industry.

Managing Director Helen Rudd said: “CPD and training is crucial to an effective PR agency as our industry is one which changes every day. Abi and Kerry are committed to being the best PR practitioners they can be and not only are clients benefitting from a top class service, other members of the team are also able to learn from them in our monthly internal training sessions where they have been sharing what they have learnt.”

Prominent was named CIPR Outstanding small agency of the year in 2017 and Abi was awarded the CIPR Young Communicator of the Year title in the same year. So far in 2019 they have been shortlisted in two categories of the PRCA Dare awards including small agency of the year, included as a member of the Archant Future50 and MD Helen Rudd has been named a finalist in the Institute of Directors’ Director of the Year awards for the East of England.

Marketing Director Abi added: “I am proud to be part of a professional body where CPD is viewed with such high regard. They provide a plethora of ways to develop your skills and the experience allows you to stay on top of your game. At Prominent we also try to reflect this ethos and I am pleased to be part of a business that invests in CPD for the whole team.”

Abi been chosen by the CIPR to join the judging panel for this year’s CIPR PRride awards.  The ceremony will take place later this year.

Kerry, who was promoted to account director at Prominent in April said: Since joining Prominent, I have developed massively as a PR professional and this has been boosted by the access to CPD via the CIPR. Prominent has always been dedicated in providing opportunities for staff to learn and this is one that I highly recommend. Over the two years I have undertaken a variety of courses and attended events aimed at building my skills to help benefit our clients and the business as a whole. Investing in CPD helps you stand out from the crowd while being at the forefront of developments within this dynamic industry.”

Kerry and Abi will be working towards their Chartered Practitioner status throughout the next year, undertaking CPD, assessment days and written submissions to obtain the highest qualification possible within the CIPR.

Another three members of the team, Emily, Lauren Fleming and Lucy Jenkins, are also working towards becoming CIPR accredited practitioners.
