On 27th March 2018, our Account Manager Kerry Doy celebrates her year anniversary at Prominent. Here she talks about some of the highlights that her past year has involved.

Today marks one year for me at Prominent. A year that has flown by, filled to the brim with both exciting and interesting milestones.

I joined Prominent at a time when I needed a new challenge and a change in surroundings. A fantastic move if I do say so myself.

A Prominent change

Having worked with various members of the team previously, I knew how they operated and it felt like I had been here from the beginning. I settled in quickly.

As my expertise lies in built environment PR and marketing, I was asked to take over the management of a majority of Prominent’s clients in the sector. And not long after starting, we won the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) as a client. This was a significant step for us as an agency and a boost to my confidence in my new role.

Enhancing my skillset

In 2017 I expanded outside of the built environment sector and took on the management of an events business and a Christmas tree association. This was slightly out of my comfort zone but rewarding nonetheless.

With the events business, I managed the public relations for three of their sold-out Ipswich-based events over the summer. And I’m pleased to say that Mister Jack is still with us today.

Since I started, I have managed the communications for the British Christmas Tree Growers Association (BCTGA), helping to boost sales of real Christmas trees on the run up to Christmas.

This client has taught me all about the environmental benefits of a real tree, seen me manage an exciting competition to find the most Christmassy-named person in the UK and enabled me to visit Number 10 to meet the Prime Minister - a definite highlight in my career.

Part of an award-winning team

September saw a momentous occasion for us here at Prominent and one that I’m proud to have been a part of.
At the CIPR Pride Awards 2017, we took home three golds and one silver for our work.
Even though I knew it from the start, I now officially work with an award-winning team and for an ‘Outstanding Small Public Relations Consultancy’ - a title that I believe the company justly deserves.

In the time I have been here, I have built some great friendships with my colleagues, shared knowledge, met some fantastic people and clients, moved desks what feels like a thousand times and enjoyed some much-needed cake and hot beverage time. It’s been a hugely fulfilling year and I can say that I’m truly honoured to work with such a fantastic team here at Prominent.
I look forward to what my next year brings.
